Character Counts

The character counts word for January and February is Trustworthiness. It means to be honest, don’t deceive, cheat or steal, be reliable and do what you say you will, and have the courage to do the right thing. See the current newsletter for a list of the students who were selected this month.

APS Fine Arts Program 2013

We are so excited to have the APS Fine Arts Program back at Bellehaven!

Second through fifth grades have been making designs based on symmetry. Parents, ask your student what symmetry is and how we used it in our latest project.

Kindergarteners and first graders have been reviewing primary and secondary colors. Ask them how to
use red, yellow and blue to make green, orange and violet.

And be sure to ask about our fabulous Art Chair and what kind of behavior it takes to be chosen “chair person”. Stop by the art room to see what we are creating! - Kris Keller, APS Fine Arts Teacher

Spelling Bee

Every year our 3^rd through 5^th grade students participate in the school Spelling Bee. The top two students go one to participate in the District Bee. If your child excels in spelling or just loves to spell check out the National Spelling Bee website, www.spellingbee.com. This website provides yearlong information and tips to students and families. You can go online and sign up for newsletters that will help your child succeed. If you have questions about upcoming School Bees please contact Brandy Smotts at bsmotts82@gmail.com.
