THIS WEEK'S NEWS
December 15, 2008 |
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our holiday lunch on Thursday! Thanks for joining us! We enjoyed our travels last week and will continue with our adventures this week in Africa and England.
Monday we go to Africa where we will make a mkeka (woven mat) and make a Kwaanza stick snack. Wednesday we will be in England where we will learn about and make a "cracker". Friday we will return home and make a reindeer snack, read The Polar Express and do some related activities. We will also enjoy our pizza lunch and a movie.
Our letter of the week is "Gg". We will make our "My Gg Book", tactile "Gg", the "Gg" page in our alphabet book, and make Goat's Garage that will hold things that begin with "Gg". We will also do other activities that relate to the letter of the week.
We continue with our Math Investigations as we begin Unit 4. You will receive a introduction letter this week. We will also continue with our handwriting and Animated Literacy lessons.
We have an afternoon rotation this Wednesday, the 17th. Please assist your child in remembering to return library books and wear tennis shoes.
LAST CALL FOR THE FOOD DRIVE IS TOMORROW, THE 16th. Thanks to so many of you that contributed to the food drive and with gifts for the family we are assisting. If possible please bring your wrapped and tagged gifts tomorrow and at the very latest, the 17th.
Please note that Winter Break extends for the next 2 weeks. Teachers return to school on the 5th of January, and students return on Tuesday, the 6th. We extend our best wishes to you all for a wonderful holiday season!! We hope you all have an enjoyable break! |
