THIS WEEK'S NEWS
May 19, 2008 |
Our final week is upon us. We've got a busy week planned! In addition to our special events, we will do a last few lessons with each Math Investigations and Animated Literacy. Students will write about and illustrate a favorite part of our year. We will also spend some time practicing for Thursday's program.
We will be going on our field trip to the park on Tuesday. A big thanks to Alexus's mom and Isaiah's grandmother for volunteering to walk with us. Also, thanks to Julian's mom for volunteering to transport our lunches. You are all invited to join us at the park! Each student needs to bring a sacked lunch and drink. It would be best for us to have all student lunches with us. If, however, you are making other arrangements for a student's lunch, please let me know. We want to make sure that no student is without a lunch at the park. The weather report indicates a sunny day on Tuesday...please sunscreen you child!
Wednesday morning is the K-2 Field Day Olympics. Each student chose their events last week in PE. It should be great fun!! Please sunscreen your child for today's events too! We have our final visit with our 5th grade Reading Buddies Wednesday afternoon.
Thursday is our last day and also our Year End Kindergarten Celebration. The dismissal time on Thursday is 11:20. Our program begins at 10:00 in the cafetorium and following the performance we will return to our classroom for a reception. We hope you all can join us. Thanks to Thomas, Chaus, Becca, and their families for the helping with refreshments. We are still in need of help with the refreshments. Please let me know by tomorrow if you would like to help.
Library books need to be returned ASAP! They need to be returned prior to our distribution of report cards on Thursday. If you have any questions regarding a book, please see Ms. Fisher in the library.
It is with both pride and sadness that our year comes to an end. Although I am sad to say goodbye, I'm so proud of their growth this year. They have worked hard and it shows!! I would sincerely like to thank each of you for the opportunity to work with your child...they are a special group and I have enjoyed learning with them!! I would also like to thank you for the support you have given us during the year in various ways. My very best to you all!! |
