Read the Story starting on page A•84 called “”Laughing Gas.” Do the activity on page A•103. You can dictate your answers to Mr. Higgins or Mr. Maury. Reading Grade: Social Studies (Make this a Tuesday homework choice.) You will be working with Voyage of the Mimi. Social Thinking: In the Science book Meerkat, read Lesson 1 n pages 92-95 called “Stimulation/Response.” (We will do the earthworm experiment this week.) Discuss with Mr. Higgins and Ms. Knox. Then, do the activity called “Good Reflexes” on page 111. We have become experts in the “explorer” category. We will be writing questions about your “Future Explorer” this Monday (10/23/06). Have you ever heard of Benjamin Bloom? You are also working in our Social Thinking Group with Ms. Knox. Social Studies Grade: Science In the MACOS series, we have been studying Salmon, Herring Gull, and now Baboons. We will do short reports on each animal. For this week, create a short – two paragraph report on Salmon. You will have to use the rubric enclosed in your folder to be sure that you are meeting all the requirements. Grammar (We will do this in class on Tuesday) This week, we will be working on paragraphing. Spelling (Be sure to study your words on an on-going basis.) Study your words in Unit 7.
