Seminar
Based on the unique characteristics of this population, twice-exceptional children need avenues to successfully express their ideas and their interests with a group of children who share similar characteristics. However, the need for a tremendous amount of written work must be minimized. These students have the global and conceptual thoughts of the typical gifted student but do not have the ability to generate the equivalent amount of written documentation. The Seminar Discussion takes this into account.
The Seminar is designed to allow students to share information with one another. It is not a time to try to “out-do” another student with information. Rather, it is designed to be a group problem solving or group research topic. It is based on the belief that not one of us is a better thinker than all of us together.
Each month, a new Seminar topic is posted. Learners should, at that time, start thinking of ideas and/or writing down ideas concerning the topic. They are also encouraged to visit WebSites that might provide additional information concerning the topic. they are also encouraged and instructed in how to research the library and how to use the classrooms many resource materials to find information about the month’s posted Seminar topic. All this is to prepare the student for the formal discussion to be held on the posted date. Dates for these discussions generally fall on a Friday.

The question for the Month of February is: "What famous couples come to mind?"
